Bishop Gerardo Alminaza of San Carlos has fully recovered from Covid-19, according to his diocese.
Alminaza, 61, was discharged from home quarantine on Friday.
“He was discharged from San Carlos Doctor’s Hospital last June 25 after a 6-day confinement and completed the 21-day quarantine,” the diocese said in an advisory.
“However, he is advised to be conscientiously guarded in receiving engagements as he resumes his important ministry for the Church due to his pre-existing medical conditions,” it added.
Alminaza will celebrate Mass at the San Carlos Borromeo Cathedral on Sunday “in thanksgiving for all your prayers, expression of care and support”.
“The faithful is enjoined to continue observing the established health and safety protocols of the Department of Health and the Inter-Agency Task Force,” the diocese added.
The bishop announced his Covid-19 positive test result on June 20.
