The Basilica Minore del Sto. NiƱo has again opened its doors to minors and senior citizens as Covid-19 cases in Cebu City have gone down.

In an advisory, the basilica said children can already enter the church while accompanied by their parents or guardians.

“Children are now allowed to enter inside the basilica but should be accompanied by fully-vaccinated parents/guardians,” it said.

Similarly, it said that individuals aged above 65 years old may also enter the church.

“Persons above 65 years old and are fully-vaccinated are also allowed to enter the basilica,” the basilica said.

The church reminded fully-vaccinated individuals to bring their respective vaccination cards when going to the basilica.

It also reminded the faithful to follow the safety protocols implemented within the basilica.

OCTA Research on Wednesday said that Cebu City is now classified as “very low risk” for Covid-19.

The city has a reproduction rate of 0.42, average daily attack rate of 1.72, and positivity rate of 2 percent, all being at “low risk”.
